Water Filters Make Any Water Source Taste Great

I remember the first time I used a water filter. It was on my first hiking trip as a Boy Scout. After hiking for 4 hours, I was quite thirsty by the time I arrived at the camp site. I was a bit of a chubby child at the time and had of course drank all the water I brought with me on the hike up the mountain. I looked for a water faucet when I summited, but all I saw was an elderly scoutmaster surrounded by water bottles. He was sitting next to what amounted to a  puddle of water as I approached.

I asked him where to find water and he told me right here. Thats when I saw his hand held a pump filter. After discussing how the pump worked, he took a break and passed it off to me. I looked into the murky shallows of the puddle and wondered what I had gotten myself into. However, after working the pump on the device, I soon had enough water for a good drink. I looked into my water bottle and the dryness of my throat soon overcame my reservations. It was amazing. The dirty puddle filled with leaves soon became the equal to any bottled water. I was sold right then and there on these wonderful devices.
