Camping Gear is indispensable

Posted by admin - September 9th, 2009

There are two types of people in this world.  One kind do not love changes and like to carry on with their lives which are devoid of any adventures and are very predictable.  These people loathe the idea of any kind disturbance in their routine and do not welcome any kind of adventure.  They are not paranoid but they prefer smooth running schedules.

The other kind, of course, is the most adventurous ones.  The people in this case happen to be exactly opposite of the first kind.  Life is unbearable for them if they do not have adventure every once in a while.  They are family men too, but take to adventures like fish do to water!    They have their own set of like minded people who would love to go on adventurous sprees whenever the opportunity presents itself.  It seems as if Camping Gear has been deigned for such people only.  What would these people have done without it as they despise the ides of staying inside four walls when they go trekking to country side locations?

When we went with our Camping Gear

Posted by admin - September 5th, 2009

A number of my friends do not fail to visit me from abroad during the months of summer.  They love Indian summer even though it is very hot during that period.  It gives them an opportunity to take off to a hill station to have all the fun they want to.

It was one of those times when some of friends cam visiting me.  I was quite busy with my official work and decided not to accompany them.   But they would not take no for an answer and forcibly dragged me along.  I had to prepare a convincing leave letter to hand over to my boss!  Well, on reaching a lovely hill station that we had not seen before, we decided to camp in a lovely open space in beautiful settings.  We had our Camping Gear in tact.  In the morning, we decided go for a long walk.  The road was narrow and somewhat slippery too.  But luckily, we were seasoned travelers and had no problem at any point of our stay in the open.  It was a totally fulfilling experience.

Camping Equipment is and Investment

Posted by admin - December 2nd, 2008

Camping equipment is one of those things in life you can have forever. Its like a really good watch or a well made winter coat. If you buy really good camping equipment you can have it for a very long time. You can even pass really good equipment down to your kids. There are some things in life that are meant to be thrown away but really good camping gear does not fall into that category.

If you buy a really good axe you can have it sharpened. Cook wear for camping as long as it is cared for well never really needs to be replaced. The fabric of tents can mould or break down but if stored properly they can be saved for the long haul.

I inherited most of my camping equipment from my dad and on the rare occasions when both my parents come out into the woods with me the stories they tell about it are priceless. Now I am building my own memories with my kids. Its rare these days to have access to something like this.  I think that makes an investment in good camping gear all the more worth it.

The Benefits of Luxury Camping Equipment

Posted by admin - November 19th, 2008

When camping, everyone know the importance of the essentials. But what if you’re looking to expand your camping experience? There is no shortage of luxury, or non-essential, equipment available to you. Tents and bedding are often the most rewarding source. Instead of cramming several people into one discount tent, imagine sleeping comfortably in a multi-room tent fit for several people. This is ideal for extended trips.

Of course, what good is a tent if what you’re sleeping on isn’t comfortable? You could choose a standard sleeping bag, or you could go the extra mile and purchase an air mattress. These come very close to the comfort of a traditional mattress, and can be de-inflated and used repeatedly.

A big concern for campers is the weather. If it’s cold, typically you’ll bundle up in clothes and huddle around a fire. Or you could stay in the comfort of your tent, warmed by propane-powered heater designed for indoor use. Camping is dirty business, so you could also consider buying a solar-heated portable shower. And if nature hikes aren’t your thing, bring along an mp3 player or portable DVD player. With all that’s available these days, there’s no need to suffer when camping.

Choosing the Right Flashlight for Your Camping Trip

Posted by admin - September 13th, 2008

One of the most important tools you can bring along on a camping trip
is a flashlight, any veteran camper knows this. But with so many
different options available as far as flashlights are concerned, how
do you make sure you are getting the right one? Well, there are a
number of factors to consider when shopping for a flashlight,
depending on your tastes, your budget and of course your intended use.

For that once a year camping trip, a small, plastic flashlight that is
battery powered is sufficient. If you are an avid camper or
outdoorsman, however, you will want to consider something a little
more durable. If you really spend a lot of time camping, you may also
want to consider a hand crank flashlight or even a flashlight that
includes its own miniature solar panels for recharging. This can save
you quite a bit of money over the course of many trips throughout the
years. Often times these types of flashlights also include an AM radio
and an emergency siren of some kind.
