Hunting Knives

There are many weapons that are used during hunting. A hunting knife is one of them. However, it is not used for hunting an animal. A hunting knife is used in preparing the hunted animal for cooking. It is used for skinning the hunted animal and cutting the flesh into pieces. A hunting knife can also be used as machetes or hatchets when these specific tools are not available. Thus, it is also termed as survival knifes.

A hunting knife always has only one sharpened edge and it is good in cutting flesh rather than stabbing. Usually, the blade is slightly curved, but in some hunting knives the blade has both a curved portion for skinning as well as a straight portion for cutting the meat. Some of the examples for hunting knives are the Bowie knife, the Puukko and the Sharpfinger. This specific tool can be a handy during a trekking, camping or a picnic. In many instances, a hunting knife has played the role of savior. Hence, this specific tool has important place in the travelers back pack.
