Sleeping gear is one of the most important gears that we have to give more attention. A good sleeping gear can be a solace for the tired traveler. Choose a sleeping bag that can be a bit longer than your height. Select the ones that have a cushioned bottom surface. When coming to buying the mummy sleeping bags; it has good heat retention properties. There are even sleeping bags specialized for women. We have to be selecting the proper sleeping bags for the seasons, to avoid discomfort. The outer membrane of the bag should be from Pertex material.

We have to choose about the filling that sleeping bags are filled with. Synthetic fibers are the best in wet conditions, as they are good insulators. Down is another alternative but the bag has to be kept dry all the time. A bivouac sack is usually used to cover the down filled sleeping bag. There are regulations and rules at which a sleeping bag can be used. There are also sleeping pads available for additional comfort, containing closed and open cell foams. Closed cell foams are good for insulation, while open celled are for ventilation. If you are not properly covered especially in summer consider carrying a mosquito bar.
